San Carlos Charter Learning Center 2018 Field Trip
San Carlos Charter Learning Center (SCCLC) got away from the classroom and spent a few hours with MPWD staff on Friday, October 26, 2018 discovering the world of water. Each year MPWD offers a fall and spring field trip opportunity to interested elementary grade school teachers within the District's service territory and each year SCCLC’s 2nd grade students and their chaperones return to explore a variety of activities related to water conservation and water system operations.
The morning agenda included hands-on field equipment demos, conservation learning stations, and the exploration of a District model built to scale. Students were also treated to a take-home garden sign and rain gauge craft project, water awareness video presentation, story on the hydrologic cycle, and a water savers vs. wasters team exercise.
A nutritious snack was provided while shower water saver buckets, educational materials, and other conservation resources were gifted to each student at the end of the festivities!
